It’s vitally important that our neighbours get the facts regarding the submitted plans. We have responded to the key questions we have been asked, to help the community consider the application with the right and correct information.
Working with the local community
We have consulted widely on the proposals for the shopping centre to listen to ideas from the community and understand local concerns. This feedback has been invaluable and has influenced the final plans we submitted to Elmbridge Borough Council.
Building new homes
We are building new homes on the site to meet a local need for purpose-built homes for the over 65s. These are homes are being provided in a sustainable location in the village centre, on a site which is allocated for 200 homes in the draft local plan, and not on the greenbelt. The homes have been carefully designed to respect our neighbours and the village Green.
Delivering an improved retail offer
We are investing £6m to improve and modernise the shopping centre to ensure it flourishes for years to come. We are upgrading and refurbishing the buildings, making the public square more welcoming and improving the overall experience for visitors.
Your transport questions answered
Our multi-million pound investment to improve the shopping centre and privately owned car park depends on having sufficient parking. We have commissioned leading transport consultants to help us manage transport issues and understand parking requirements to ensure that we get these important elements of the scheme right.
